Elmhurst BOD Meeting March 27, 2019
 
Meeting called to order at 5:25 pm.
Pledge of allegiance and roll call taken. Mike Cummings and Jack Sohns absent.
A motion to accept the minutes of the previous meeting was made by T. Hopkins 2nd by D Bracey.

Member issue: A second letter concerning the acceptance of a new member, with two signatures attached; was received by the BOD. After reviewing the information presented the BOD s decision was to accept the new member. The dispute is a personal matter between the parties involved and has no bearing on ECC. This matter was voted on and is now closed.                                                                                                                                
 
Treasurer Report - Mike Brozetti – See balance sheet report for February.
A COLA for 2019 will go into effect after a review of the spring income and expenses.
Workers comp insurance: The workman’s comp insurance quote submitted by Joyce, Jackman & Bell, was accepted by the BOD.  The quote should save the club $6,145.00 a year.

Membership ReportMike Cummings
  A motion to accept the membership count was made by L Paciotti 2nd by T Hopkins.

Grievances
Dan Bracey reported there were no member grievances this month.

Course and Grounds – Lou Paciotti/ Jack Sohns
Supt. Jim Lanza said he will have the course open on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. Jim also gave an update on the course. The course still has snow on it. With regards to #3 green , he has put a tarp on it and feels confident it will be ready  by next wed.
 
Entertainment – Mike Cummings
Sept 7th is the date the ECC anniversary celebration will be held. More information on the party will be in the newsletter.

Carts – Dan Bracey
All carts are back and are ready for use.

Club House- Jack Sohns and Tom Ehnot
Work on the ladies rest room has been completed.
All florescent lights have been replaced with LED bulbs. A sizable savings on lighting should be realized.
Roof repairs have been made to the cart barn at a cost of $1,000.00
A contractor will do a UV test to locate where the roof over the men’s locker room is leaking. An assessment will be made to determine who is responsible for making repairs.
Patio extension: an estimate of $13,215.00 was received for work to extend the patio outside the sand trap. More estimates and discussion to follow.

Golf – Doug Nardella
The Golf committee Is continuing to work on the league schedules.  Also, they are planning on having a fall league starting Sept 10th – 4:30 shotgun start. More discussions to follow.

Kitchen/Bar - Tom Hallinan & Tom Ehnot
Tom Ehnot said the restaurant and bars will be open full-time starting Wed Apr 3rd

By-Laws – Doug Nardella
Diane will be updating the new by –law changes.
The BOD decided that a monthly fee of $35.00 will be the rate a social junior member will pay to play golf. Tee times will be limited.
 
 Long Range Plan – Dan Bracey
Looking into costs of golf simulators.

Employee Relations – Tim Hopkins

Old / New Business
There was a discussion regarding running a tournament with the proceeds to benefit the irrigation fund.  Addition discussion will be held at future BOD meetings.
 
The next BOD meeting will be Monday April 29, at 6:00pm at ECC.
